The Greenway is a great example of the value preserving working farmland right next to a great big city.  Farmers can bring their produce in to markets with ease, and a significant part of the urban population has easy access to fresh, local vegetables and fruit.  Yum!

Challenges lie ahead for the Greenway's farmers.  A shrinking land base, layered rules and regulations, drought and flooding threaten livelihoods.  Knowing this, public and private organizations have stepped forward to support farms and farmers.  By working together, we can build on and sustain a healthy agricultural land base for future generations.
